Nazar Massouh serves as Chief Executive Officer, CoFounder, and Co-Managing Partner at OIC. Nazar is also the Chair of the Investment Committee, Chair of the Management Committee, Chair of the Diversity Committee, and an observer on the board of directors for Origin Americas. Nazar received a B.S. in international business and mathematics from Aquinas College magna cum laude and a Master of International Management with distinction from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Prior to co-founding Orion in 2015, Nazar played a key role in establishing a credit investment strategy and spent four years as portfolio manager of Energy Capital Partners Mezzanine Opportunities Fund, an $805 million private equity fund with a similar investment strategy to Orion’s Infra Credit business. Prior to that, Nazar spent seven years at Goldman Sachs developing and implementing fixed-income and commodity financing solutions for a broad range of energy companies, most recently as Managing Director in their Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities Division. Nazar started his career at NRG Energy in power plant development and project finance, participating in over $6 billion of energy projects and rising to the position of Assistant Treasurer and Head of Project Finance. Subsequently, at Beal Bank in Dallas, Texas, he originated and structured nearly $1 billion in energy project finance mezzanine and debt investments.

Mr. Max Slee joined the firm in 2010. He serves as a portfolio manager on listed equity strategies, both long only and long/short. Before joining the firm, Mr. Slee was a member of the clean energy team of the Clinton Foundation where he was involved in setting up and developing carbon capture & storage (CCS) projects around the world. Previously he was an investment banker at Lazard in London where he was a specialist in the energy sector, working on mergers and acquisitions. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.

Thomas Devos is the Managing Director at Goldman Sachs since 2008. Thomas is based out of New York and is also an investment strategist, energy markets analyst, and an angel investor. He got his Masters of International Affairs, Energy Markets from Columbia SIPA and previously worked at PIRA Energy Group as a Senior Analyst.
